The cause of MS is as a result of decrease of GOOD fat within the brain surrounding the nerves called myelin sheath. Myelin sheath acts the same way as your electrical cord does to the copper wires inside of the cord. It protects the nerves in the brain. Without the protection U have memory loss and many other thought related problems. This loss of myelin sheath loss is caused from SPECIFIC foods listed below, toxins, prescription/non-prescription drugs, and a Ph imbalance in the body.
When U eat certain foods these foods chemistry attack myelin sheath within the brain.
Thus, the GOOD brain fat is replaced with BAD brain fat. This bad fat from these foods attack the fatty tissue around the nerves in the brain called your myelin sheath. The brain needs GOOD fat produced from the right foods with much nutritional value to grow good fat and to not harm the brain. A common hydrogenation is the hardening of animal fats or oils to make them solid at room temperature and improve their stability.
Edible oils with unsaturated fatty acids fatty are liquid at room temperature; food manufacturers use hydrogenation to convert a fraction to saturated fatty acid to make the product more solid.
- Hydrogenated fats are literally "plastics", which do not have the same properties as natural fats.
- The melting point of the oil is raised, turning many previously liquid oils into solids.
- Shelf-life is increased, as the resulting oil is less susceptible to degrading over time (maybe bacteria have a difficult time eating it too!).
- All nutritional value in the original oil is lost. And caused food impacts and defined diseases.
- The texture of the resultant solid can be made to resemble that of natural, animal fats.
- The previously perfectly natural oil becomes a totally unnatural, dangerous, relatively indigestible "plastic".
- Tissues made with the "false" fat cannot function properly, as thousands of enzymes can't bind to them, giving rise to a host of disease states.
No matter what the label says, a food that contains partially hydrogenated oil contains some trans fat. How much depends on what kind of oil was used and how much it was hydrogenated. But as long as the food contains less than 0.5 grams of trans fat per serving, the FDA says it can proclaim "no trans fat" on the front and list zero trans fat on the label. (In Canada, the cutoff is 0.2 grams per serving.)
Trans fat boosts levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol as much as saturated fat does. It also lowers HDL (good) cholesterol and increases the tendency for blood clots to form inside blood vessels. None of these is good for your heart. According to the FDA and the Institute of Medicine, we should eat as little trans fat as possible. In practical terms, that means staying below 2 grams a day for someone who takes in 2,000 calories a day. Five servings of "no trans fat" products that each contain 0.4 grams could push you right to that limit.
Shortening and margarines are created from oil, which is a liquid. Since we want our margarine and shortening to be more solid at room temperature, a process called hydrogenation is used to change the liquid oils to solids. Hydrogenation is the process by which hydrogen is forced into heated oil with the aid of a catalyst, usually nickel. Forcing hydrogen into the oil changes the chemical structure so that the oil will become more solid. Fully hydrogenating the oils will make them too solid, which makes them difficult to use for cooking. To keep the margarine or shortening slightly soft, the oils used for margarine and shortening are only partially hydrogenated. When oils are only partially hydrogenated, the molecules of the partially hydrogenated oils form trans configurations, which means the oil molecules have kind of an odd shape for fat molecules. Your body doesn't like this trans configuration, and in fact, trans fats due to partial hydrogenation are as bad, or worse, for your arteries as saturated fats.
Fully hydrogenated shortenings don't have this trans configuration, but of course they are too solid to use for cooking. This problem can be solved by blending the fully hydrogenated solid with unsaturated oils to make them softer so that they can be used like regular margarine or shortening. Crisco Trans Fat Free shortening has this hard fully hydrogenated cottonseed oil blended with liquid soy and sunflower oils which give the shortening a softer texture.
Be sure to follow the temperature guidelines. If you heat an oil too hot, it can start to smoke, ruining your food and smoking out your home. Also, overheating an oil can destroy its health benefits and even turn the healthy oils into trans fatty acids. Omega-3s should be served cold. Omega-6s should be used under 212F. Store oils in a dark cool place, and use within a year.
